12 April 2016: They are gone, gone, gone

We dropped off the bikes today. Finally. A day later than we had intended, but for some reason Chantelle and I just haven’t been able to get ourselves organised. We seemed to be running around in circles like headless chooks!

Finally though, everything started to fall into place. We got the bikes scrubbed down, repacked our camp gear into some new soft panniers and then this morning we rode them the final 8 km’s to the freight yard.

We had to totally drain the fuel tanks and flush them out with metho to remove any lingering fuel vapours. After that it was disconnect the batteries and sign them over to the cargo boys! Bye Mabel. Bye Rosie! See you next week, in Canada!

We are going to try to sort out some new helmet comms over the next few days and just generally rest up. We are staying with a friend who also has postie bikes and are being really well looked after.

Stay tuned. We will be back on the road soon!
